Whether it’s a small building project or huge renovation, we want to take as much accurate information as possible so we can provide an accurate estimate within your budget. Many clients know exactly what they want while others want advice and suggestions to find the best solution. At GDC Plumbing and Heating Ltd, our experience and knowledge means we can provide cost effective and practical solutions to design questions.
Smaller Building Project Estimates
To kick things off, we will arrange to meet you and talk through what you want. This allows us to fully understand your requirements for the building project, take some measurements and ensure we have all the details we need to build our estimate for the building work. Once we have met, if we have plans we will we will use the details we discussed to draw up a detailed estimate that works for your budget, if no plans we will able able to give you a rough estimate.
Large Building Project Estimates
Even though every project is different there are 2 types of estimates we give out as described below.
No plans or planning permission, only drawings
Often clients are not sure exactly what they are after and don’t have any plans, and some just want a rough idea of the costs involved. At GDC Plumbing and Heating Ltd, we can provide this information based on similar projects we have undertaken. Please bear in mind that if you decide to proceed at a later date, and you have then added additional items, such as bi-fold doors, en-suites, etc. the price will increase to reflect this.
Detailed plans with drawings and building specification
Once we have been supplied with detailed drawings we can then give you a itemized estimate based on the drawings and any other information you have supplied. It is very important that we are supplied with an exact paper copy of the original drawings. We are unable to work off computer copies that have been scanned and are not in the original size, for example A5 converted to A3, the problem being we have to scale to work out measurements and this is always impossible to do.
The turnaround time is normally between 7 and 10 working days, excluding holiday periods from our first meeting.
We want to work within your budgets and even save you money if we can, so if estimates need adjusting at the early stages it is much better to get this right at the start of the project rather than after work has begun.
